Overview
Project Management is a demanding and complex profession, with numerous technical and management skills required. To add to the complexity of the profession, Project Managers are expected to move across widely varying business environments and adapt to their systems. PRINCE2™ is one of the main PM methodologies that provide a framework within which many of the processes and outputs are defined.
PRINCE2™ is a structured method of effective project management. It was officially adopted by the UK Government in 1979. PRINCE™ was extensively developed by an expert panel and by 1989 had become an established standard for best practice project management. Today it still sets the benchmark for excellence in project management methodologies. In 1996 the upgraded and totally redeveloped Version 2 was issued, incorporating the lessons learned over the previous years of real life operations in a full range of projects, from simple, short-term projects to highly complex, long-term, multiple stage, high value projects. PRINCE2™ is now a de facto standard and is widely used in the UK, Australia, Canada, Holland, South Africa, parts of the Middle East and throughout other parts of the world. PRINCE2™ continues to be adopted by more organisations and is growing rapidly in popularity and acceptance in both Government and the business world.
The Practitioner course is aimed at applying the principles and knowledge gained at the Foundation Level to a series of scenario based questions designed to prepare the participant for the APM Group Practitioner examination. It covers the APM Group PRINCE2™ Practitioner syllabus. Candidates will then have the option of taking the Practitioner exam on a nominated day after completing the course.
Conscium International is the Accredited Training Organisation that delivers the course at Monash Professional.
